Romanians have been falling for Halloween more and more. Maybe because we like ghost stories and we like to joke about them too. Maybe because we love any excuse to dress up, meet friends, and enjoy a different kind of decor. Or maybe, quite simply, because Halloween is the perfect excuse to eat well and take cool photos.
At Big5, we like to think Halloween is the perfect mix of American tradition and Romanian love of a good time. So every year we ride the spooky wave and turn our place into a little corner of America… haunted.
What Big5 looks like in Halloween mode
When you walk in during this season, you might feel a bit like you're in an American movie. Except you're not the audience — you're the lead.
At the entrance, a life-sized witch watches the door with a suspiciously amused look (we say she has a sense of humor). On the bar and in corners, spider webs have crept in strategically — rest easy, the spiders aren't real, just set design.
On the tables, pumpkins smile mysteriously in the warm light, and the walls have themed paintings too, so every glance finds something new and a little spooky. The decor is only the beginning — because the music, the lights, and the energy of the place make the whole atmosphere feel lifted from an American autumn film.
You hear classic rock, maybe a well-placed "Thriller," and sometimes between tracks a famous voice slips in that makes you smile: Trump and Snoop Dogg leave us the occasional audio line on the menu, because that's Big5 — always a little unexpected. It's the kind of place where you can relax completely, but everything has a small detail that makes you say: "That's awesome."

"Witch Way to the Burgers?" — the witch with hypnotic eyes who doesn't cast love spells, only hunger charms. Her gaze seems to say clearly: "Stop overthinking it — the direction is Big5."

"Don't Ghost This Meat!" — the classic Halloween pumpkin, Big5 fan edition: a wicked grin and a burger in its claws. It reminds you that some cravings shouldn't be ignored.
"Franken-Fries with That Monster Burger?" — Frankenstein on a lunch break. Looks like he's finally found his perfect creation — and it's on our menu.
"This Burger Is Un-boo-lievable" — happy ghosts, levitating ketchup, and a burger in the spotlight. If ghosts exist, they probably gather at Big5.
"Join the Monster Munch!" — an elegant lady inspired by Día de los Muertos, caught between poetry, passion, and appetite. That Mexican art with an American twist is just like us: bold and delicious.
"Lift the Spirits with Some Grilled Meats!" — an American dinner with polite ghosts, huge burgers, and U.S. flags in the background. Something between The Addams Family and Friends… but with meat on the grill.
"Wrap Your Hands Around This Burger!" — a happy mummy who, instead of haunting pyramids, discovered our burgers and hasn't left since.

If Halloween had a flavor, it would probably be this one. Spicy, bold, with Tex-Mex notes that fire up your senses. A little "trick & treat" in every bite.

Halloween at Big5 is basically a playground for anyone who loves a photo with vibe. Every corner has warm light, every decor looks good on Stories, and yes — the witch at the entrance is already an influencer. People come, take pictures with her, and sometimes tag her. (She doesn't have an account yet, but who knows…)
And because we're a restaurant with an American soul and Romanian humor, we don't mind at all when we see guests pulling out phones and shooting the burger from every angle. On the contrary — we love it!
